The System

Functional Nutritional Design

Every Arca Vitae diet is constructed around five functional nutritional domains.

These domains support feeder health and consistency so nutrients transfer effectively through the prey-predator chain. The result is a feeder organism that is a biologically functional part of your designed ecosystem.

Core Nutritional Systems

Arca Vitae diets are organized around three integrated nutritional systems.

Nutrient Core  - A foundational micronutrient and phytonutrient system supporting metabolic function, tissue integrity, and colony stability across feeder species.

Chromatic Core  - A specialized and extended framework of Nutrient Core™ supplying natural chromatophore targeted substrates, antioxidant compounds, and delivery mechanisms that support the genetically available coloration pathways in predators, through dietary pathways. This system sharply increases nutritional density within the feeder organisms tissues and gut content while preserving the foundational micronutrient and phytonutrient systems of Nutrient Core™.

Rodentia Core  - A metabolic support system designed for the reproductive performance, growth efficiency, and physiological stability of feeder rodents. The feeder rodents physiology allows these natural chromatophore targeted substrates to be used for not only its own health, but to actively store them in the body.

Metabolic Cofactors

Compounds that support metabolic pathway efficiency across growth, reproduction, and nutrient retention needs.

Phytonutrient Diversity

Plant-derived compounds that support resilience, antioxidant capacity, and natural pigment substrates.

Micronutrient Foundation

Trace minerals and vitamins that support broad enzymatic function and metabolic stability.

Protein Structure

Balanced protein foundations supporting growth, proper tissue formation, and reproduction.

Energy Architecture

Structured energy sources and fibers that support stable feeding, digestion, and colony consistency.

Our Guiding Philosophy

All predators ultimately depend on the nutritional density and composition of their prey. The prey are a culmination of what they have access to, governed by both their gut and overall health.

In a natural ecosystem, prey animals acquire diverse nutrients through plants, microorganisms, minerals, and water sources. Those nutrients can accumulate in their bodies, turning them into dense nutrient carriers for a predator consuming them.

In captivity, the predator only has access to the prey the keeper provides. Likewise, the prey only have access to what the keeper provides. This ecosystem has the potential to provide an abundance of nutrition to the predator, or become a nutritionally narrow environment.

Arca Vitae diets are designed to specifically support the predators health by turning the prey into the ideal nutrient carrier. Our diet systems accomplish this by carefully providing high quality bioavailable nutrients optimized for the physiology of each prey type.

Healthy predator begin with healthy prey.
